Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club, was the Diplomat of the Month for February. Second place went to Tammy Beintema, MSH Architects (Miller Sellers Heroux), and third place went to David Johnson, DAKOTACARE. The Diplomat Team of the Month for February was: Captain Kathy Jurgens, Empire Mall/Empire East; Teri Roest, Dakota Staffing, Inc.; Lori Lewison, Workplace Marketing; Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank; and Marshall Selberg, Chell Realtors. HONORS IN INDUSTRY

Midco Connections completed its PCI-DSS v1.2.1 assessment performed by CompliancePoint, a PCI Security Council Qualified Security Assessor Company, and that Midco Connections was found to be compliant with the PCI Data Security Standards and certified as a Level 1 service provider. By achieving PCI Level 1 Certification, Midco has met the highest standard for security in processing credit card transaction data. Midco Connections does not directly process banking data; the PCI-DSS certification shows that it can provide the highest level of protection of its customers’ data hosted in its facilities. As a result, Midco Connections’ clients will be able to simplify their own accreditation processes to the PCI-DSS standard and can rely on secure storage of customer and payment data.

Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union was recently honored with two Diamond Awards, which recognizes outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry. The awards were presented by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Marketing and Business Development Council, a national network comprised of nearly 1,000 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Awards are given in each of 33 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond. Sioux Falls Federal won in the Retail Merchandising category for the design of their new branch office at 5700 E. Arrowhead Pl., and the Television Series category for their current television ad campaign.

Samuel Theobald, a Managing Director of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Sioux Falls, was honored with the company’s Managing Director Achievement Award. The award recognizes overall excellence in District Network Office development, including: productivity, recruitment and retention of financial representatives, and persistency in serving and retaining clients.

The 45th Annual South Dakota ADDY® Awards Competition held March 11 was the first of a three-tiered national competition conducted by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The ADDY® Awards Competition is the industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. The best creative was honored with gold, silver and (or) Best of Class awards. The South Dakota Advertising Federation also honored Annette Adams, Midcontinent Communications, with the Silver Medal Award and Jeff Zueger, Spectrum Films, and Doug Lee, SunDog Images, with the Creative Legacy Award. The following entrants received Best of Class Awards: Astronaut, for Sales Promotion; Insight Marketing Design for Collateral Material; ADwërks for Direct Marketing; Keyframe for Out of Home; Lawrence & Schiller for Non-Traditional Advertising, Television, Public Service, and Radio; Fresh Produce for Consumer or Trade Publication, Advertising Industry Self Promo, and Mixed Media; Blend Interactive for Interactive Media; Harlequin Studio for Advertising for the Arts & Science; and Hot Pink Ink for Elements of Advertising. The Best of Show Award for Print went to Fresh Produce and the Best of Show Award for Broadcast went to Lawrence & Schiller.

The South Dakota Interior Designers (SDID) recognized Jill Peltier, Canfield Business Interiors, with the 2010 Laura Hosman Professionalism Award recipient.
