The Ambassador Team of the Month for February was: Liz Lloyd, Lloyd Companies; Kerry Hammel, Hilton Garden Inn; Derek Kattenberg, Real Property Management Express; Shawna Kleinwolterink, Lloyd Companies; Larry Ayres, Ayres & Associates; and Ritch Noble, McKinneyOlson Insurance.

Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA, was the Diplomat of the Month for February.  Second place honors was a tie between Karen Noonan, CarrierNet Group Financial, Inc., and Nathan Stallinga, DakotAbilities, and third place honors went to Daren Anderson, Big D Technology Solutions. Stallinga was also the recipient of the Ribbon Cutting Attendance Award, and the Reinvestment Award went to Wendy Bergan, YMCA. The Diplomat Team of the Month for February was: Captain David Johnson, DAKOTACARE; Karen Noonan, CarrierNet Group Financial, Inc.; Debra Peterson, CorTrust Bank; Kristina Wolfe, Travel Leaders/Village Travel; and Mike Larson, Swenson Investments & Commodities.

NEW FACES & PROMOTIONS

Joseph L. Gaspar was promoted to Vice President in charge of sales and marketing for Tri-State Wholesale Flooring, Inc. Gaspar has been with Tri-State nearly 10 years. He will retain his current position as Sales Manager.

Avera Medical Group Radiology Sioux Falls has joined the Avera family. Twenty physicians and a physician assistant comprise a team of providers focused on using the most advanced technology to diagnose and treat disease. Providers include Drs. Josie Alpers, Jeffery Baka, Matthew Casey, Sabina Choudhry, Daniel Crosby, Christopher Gregory, Matthew Helgeson, Ryan Jepperson, Joseph Jordahl, Michael Kihne, Jonah Luzier, Thomas Masterson, Patrick Nelson, Brad Paulson, Matthew Pardy, Joshua Plorde, Daryl Rife, Andrew Soye, Randal Welter and Suzanne Woodward; and Derek Sitter, PAC. Along with the addition of the radiology team, Avera McKennan has assumed ownership of the Avera Veradia Vein Center, located in Plaza 2 on the Avera McKennan campus, and the Avera PET-CT Center at 6001 S. Sharon Ave. Suite 2 in Sioux Falls. Both were formerly operated by MedXRay.

Travis Starks is a Financial Services Representative/PRINCOR Registered Representative and Marty DesLauriers is a Financial Advisor with the Dakotas Business Center of The Principal Financial Group.

Travis Entenman joined Complete Media. He is a native of Sioux Falls and has a degree in advertising.

HONORS IN INDUSTRY

The Telly Awards named ADwërks as a bronze winner in the 33rd Annual Telly Awards for its piece titled A Round For The House an animated television public service announcement for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Siouxland. The Telly Awards, founded in 1979, is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.  Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

Several Chamber members were recognized at the annual South Dakota ADDY Awards, sponsored by the South Dakota Advertising Federation. The Best of Show Award for print went to Insight Marketing Design. Paulsen Marketing received the Best of Show broadcast award. The Creative Legacy Award winner was Sara Steever, a 20-year veteran of Paulsen Marketing. The 2011 Silver Medal was awarded to Roxanne Lucchesi, professor of advertising at South Dakota State University. Fourteen Best of Class Awards were presented to represent the best pieces of work of all the Gold and Silver ADDYS presented in each category. Lawrence & Schiller received six Best of Class Awards; Insight Marketing Design received three Best of Class Awards; Fresh Produce received two Best of Class Awards; and Paulsen Marketing received one Best of Class Award.

GOOD DEEDS

The UPS Foundation provided a grant to Junior Achievement of South Dakota to implement the JA "Be Entrepreneurial" program, which is aimed at challenging high school students to start thinking about entrepreneurial ventures while still in high school. Throughout the fall and spring semesters, more than 100 students were impacted by the program at O'Gorman, Roosevelt, and Washington high schools.
