Rick Rysavy, Home Federal Bank, and, Dean Karsky, Farmers Insurance Group/Karsky Agency, were the Ambassador Team of the Month for December. Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank, was the Diplomat of the Month for December. Second place went to Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA, and third place honors went to Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club. The Reinvestment Award went to Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA. Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club, was awarded the ribbon cutting attendance award. The Diplomat Team of the Month for December was: Captain Janel Cole, POSTNET SD 103; Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA; Nancy Van Otterloo, First PREMIER Bank; Jill Melchert, Farmers Insurance Group-Jill Melchert Agency; Daren Anderson, Big D Technology Solutions; and Tom Fallon.

NEW FACES & PROMOTIONS

Elizabeth Schaefer joined the ADwërks crew as the Disruption Control Specialist, or traffic manager. Schaefer, from Hancock, Minn., interned at Paulsen Marketing and graduated from Augustana College in May 2011 with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing.

Michael Heeney became a partner with the O'Connor Group doing business as O'Connor Company, G & R Controls and Balancing Professionals, Inc. Heeney joined the company in 1999 and since 2007 has served as a sales representative and will continue this role as partner.

Julie Reiland, M.D., joined Avera Medical Group Comprehensive Breast Care. Reiland specializes as a breast surgeon and has a medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine, and completed residencies at the Sanford School of Medicine and Creighton University Medical Center of Omaha. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Wade Dosch, M.D., is a new partner in Avera Medical Group Comprehensive Breast Care. Currently, Dosch is a surgeon with Avera Medical Group McGreevy 7th Avenue, and will continue to practice general surgery at the 7th Avenue clinic. He will move his breast cancer practice to Avera Medical Group Comprehensive Breast Care. He is a member of the Avera Breast Center's Breast Health Professional Advisory Board, and serves as Avera's cancer liaison physician to the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. He also serves liaison physician to the CoC for the state of South Dakota. Dosch holds a medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. He completed residency at Michigan State University at Lansing, and a surgical fellowship at Naval Hospital, Twenty-Nine Palms. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Micki DeCurtins is the new Operations Manager at the Sioux Falls Orpheum Theater. DeCurtins began her new position with SMG, the management company that operates the Orpheum Theater along with the Sioux Falls Arena in December.

Brett Stolz is the new sales specialist for McKerin Software. Stolz has a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from Augustana College and five years sales experience.

Global Spectrum, operators of the Sioux Falls Convention Center, promoted Jill Hericks to Director of Sales and Marketing. Hericks joined Global Spectrum as a Sales Manager with a market focus of weddings, associations, social events, military, education and fraternal events. A native of Hoven, S.D., Hericks joined Global Spectrum in 2008. Hericks graduated from South Dakota State University with a bachelor's degree in Hotel & Hospitality Management with a minor in Business.

LifeLight Communications, Inc. promoted Cameron Gage to Director of Finance. Rachel Ryerson joined the team as Database Administrator/I.T.

Gerald Mead joined G&R Controls as a Boiler Service Technician. Mead brings 20 years of experience in maintaining boilers and holds a Minnesota state First Class Engineer License for Boiler Plant Operation.

Advana Mortgage, a division of Premier Home Mortgage, Inc., hired Jim Lowe as a Branch Manager and Jordan Olson and Alyssia Sturm as Mortgage Bankers.

HONORS IN INDUSTRY

Havi Global Solutions, which provides strategic sourcing, packaging services solutions, and strategic supply chain management for some of the world's largest full-service and quick-service (QSR) restaurants, awarded Bell Incorporated the "Supplier of the Year Quality Award for 2011." The annual award recognizes excellence in areas such as quality systems and processes that are proactively managed and embedded in company culture. Complaint rates, recall and recovery rates, and sanitation are factored in, as are bi-monthly scorecard and trimester ranking reports, process variation measures, and annual sustainability audits.

Balancing Professionals Inc. employees Topher Cisar, Brandon Kinzer and Jason Johnson of Sioux Falls passed the exam to become NEBB Certified Field Technicians. The National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) is a premier international certification association. Members perform testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, commission and retro-commission building systems, execute sound and vibration testing, and test and certify laboratory fume hood and electronic and biological cleanrooms. NEBB certified professionals are required to complete extensive training and testing programs in order to attain certification status.
