Mike Hauck, Accord Commercial Team; Pradeep Jayaraman, Intelligent Investments; and Tom Burchill, The First National Bank in Sioux Falls, were the Ambassador Team of the Month for December.

Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA, was awarded Diplomat of the Month for December. Second place honors went to Tammy Beintema, Sioux Falls Business Magazine, and third place honors went to Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank. Jim Slater, ServiceMaster of Sioux Falls, was the recipient of the Retention Award. The Diplomat Team of the Month for December included: Captain David Johnson, DAKOTACARE; Janel Cole, Cole Notary; Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA; Jill Dawson, American Family Insurance and Mike Larson.

NEW FACES & PROMOTIONS

Gary Weckwerth joined Marco as a Regional Sales Director for their northwest Iowa, southwest Minnesota and South Dakota markets. Weckwerth is an owner and managing partner for Sioux Falls Sports, which owns the Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club and Fighting Pheasants Baseball Club. Most recently, Weckwerth was Vice President of Mortgage Banking at Home Federal Bank.

Security National Bank of South Dakota hired of Tom DeHaven as the Mortgage Loan Manager. DeHaven, a Huron native, has more than 10 years of banking experience. He has a degree in Business Administration/Strategic Planning and earned his Master's Degree in Business Administration in 2012. Gary Dybsetter joined Security National Bank of South Dakota as Vice President of Business Development. Dybsetter has more than 30 years of banking and management experience. Most recently he held the position of Sr. Vice President/Sr. Business Banker and Market President for First National Bank South Dakota in Yankton.

Jane Spreacker joined the ADwërks crew as Zen Mother, and she will be handling office management duties within the agency. Spreacker brings a variety of work experience to ADwërks including six years as an Administrative Assistant at the Sioux Falls School District and 10 years as an office manager at another Sioux Falls advertising agency.

Joni Johnson is the new Executive Director of the South Dakota Biotechnology Association. Johnson is an industry veteran, most recently serving as administrator of POET's political action committee.

LEADERSHIP

Sioux Empire Safety Village Board of Directors elected the following as officers for 2013: President Todd Person, Employment Edge; Vice- President Amy Marsh, South Dakota Emergency Medical Services for Children; Secretary Madeline Shields, The Banquet; and Treasurer Jill Melchert, Farmers Insurance. Sioux Empire Safety Village is a nonprofit organization that promotes injury prevention covering topics from fire, farm, and home safety to bicycle, pedestrian, and distracted and impaired driving.

HONORS IN INDUSTRY

The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) elected Tom Kelley, P.E. as its chair for 2013. Kelley is president of Gage Brothers Concrete Products, Inc.

Roger Haack, Director of Service for Claritus, Inc., an independent distributor of mailing equipment and customer communication software, celebrated his 10th anniversary with the company.

Randy Fink, Home Federal Bank, celebrated his 30th Anniversary with the bank.

"Pay IT Forward" is an employer/employee matching contribution program that offers High Point Networks' employees the opportunity to make contributions to charitable organizations of their choice. In the program's second year, High Point Network employees made contributions totaling $21,250 to more than 20 different charities, foundations and non-profit organizations, an increase of 35 percent from the previous year.

expansions

Brown & Saenger expanding into two more locations in South Dakota, acquiring the assets of Wheeler's Business Products in Huron and Business Products Inc. in Mitchell. They took over the ownership of these two new locations on the 2nd of January 2013. Brown & Saenger plans to continue to operate both businesses in their current facilities and provide the same services and value.

Marco purchased Midwest Office Automations, Inc., a copier and printer company with offices in Sioux City and Storm Lake, Iowa. Their 21 employees have joined the Marco team. Earlier in December, Marco purchased Mason City Business Systems and their six locations in Iowa. Marco also purchased of Midwest Business Systems — a copier and printer company with offices in Bismarck, Dickinson, Jamestown and Minot, N.D. North Dakota. The 27 employees from Midwest Business Systems have joined Marco who already has an office in Fargo and Grand Forks that employs 36 people.
