Karen Noonan, Carriernet Group Financial, Inc., was the Diplomat of the Month and also received the Reinvestment Blitz recognition for May. Jack Dyvig, Sioux Falls Morning Optimists Club, took second place honors and Julie Nelson, Great Western Bank, took third place honors for May. The May Diplomat Team of the Month includes: Captain Sandy Case, U.S. Postal Service; David Johnson, DAKOTACARE; Wendy Bergan, YMCA; Doug Erickson, Key Staffing; and Tammy Beintema, Miller Sellers Heroux, Architects Inc.

GOOD DEEDS

Culver's Restaurants in 17 states, including South Dakota, raised more than $210,000 for local charitable organizations during its national “Day of Giving� fundraising event in May, exceeding the national goal of $200,000 given to local organizations. Locally Culver's raised $1,494 for Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership.

Sales and Marketing Executives, Inc. of Sioux Falls (SME) gave Youth Business Adventure (YBA) a check for $15,600. The funds were raised through the SME annual Youth Benefit Auction. Since 2002, SME has raised more than $129,600 for YBA.

NEW FACES & PROMOTIONS

NAI Sioux Falls added two new employees. Calvin Breske, CPA (inactive) and Broker Associate, is the Accountant and Property Manager. Previously, Breske was the CFO for Variety Foods for 15 years. Larry Hayden is a Broker Associate. Hayden has 35 years of sales experience and previously was with LodgeNet Interactive Corporation.

Chris Schenkel was appointed to Managing Director by Northwestern Mutual. As Managing Director, he will continue to be part of a network of specialists offering a wide array of products. A native of Sioux Falls, Schenkel received a bachelor’s degree South Dakota State University.

Legacy Real Estate welcomed Kristi Liesinger as a Broker Associate. Liesinger’s background includes more than 20 years in the healthcare industry including medical administration, business development and medical sales. She has her bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration and her MBA from the University of Sioux Falls.

HONORS IN INDUSTRY

Kerry Lutter, Dean Karsky and John Parks, all local Farmers Insurance representatives, were inducted into the Farmers “Topper Club� for outstanding sales achievements during 2008.

AWARDS

ADwërks was recognized for excellence in television production at the 30th Annual Telly Awards. ADwërks received Telly Awards for two different commercials produced in 2008. The Telly Awards recognizes outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs from among 13,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries.
