Events Center a vote for progress
Registered voters in Sioux Falls will have the opportunity to decide if the City of Sioux Falls will move forward in building a new Events Center.

The Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is in support of the project and encourages a yes vote to improve the quality of life and enhance economic development opportunities for the area.

The Nov. 8 election will advise the Sioux Falls City Council as to whether the public supports the project. The Council has adopted a resolution stating it will not proceed with the project if a majority of voters don't approve it. The Council also previously selected the current Sioux Falls Convention Center/Arena site as the location to build the proposed Events Center. If passed, construction would begin in August 2012 and the Sioux Falls Events Center could open in the fall of 2014. ...Read Full Story

Barb StorkThanks for your investment in the community
November continues a flurry of activity for the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. And like the calendar, "thank you" is a big part of our work this month. You can read more about these events in this issue of Chamber News, but here's a brief snapshot of some of the activities your Chamber is taking part in this month. Most importantly, if you are a registered voter in Sioux Falls, please exercise your right to vote on Nov. 8 in the special City Advisory election on the proposed Events Center project!

Your Chamber's Board of Directors believes strongly that a yes vote in favor of the proposed Events Center will help move our community and the Sioux Falls area forward, creating additional economic impact, expanding our visitor business, adding new events and improving the quality of life for our residents and families. Please remind your friends and co-workers to vote so we can make the Events Center a reality. ...Read Full Story
