Kapaska ready to lead Chamber through transition year

Workforce development challenges are not new to this area or across the country, however the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is among the many community organizations banding together to make an impact and improve retention and recruitment efforts. Kapaska became the Chamber´s 2016-17 Chair of the Board on Oct. 1, a position he will hold for the next 12 months.

As Kapaska´s Chamber year kicks off at the 110th Annual Meeting workforce will be a major topic with the keynote presentation given by BridgeWorks, the leading experts on generations. There are five generations working today. Perhaps the single most limiting factor to the Sioux Falls area´s growth and future development is workforce. . .

Dave Kapaska We will maintain the Chamber´s strength, relevancy in year of transition

This 2016-17 year at the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is one of transition and change. We have the normal changing of leadership with some Board of Directors members retiring and new Directors being nominated and taking office on Oct. 1. Also, the Chamber´s new officers for 2016-17 will be joining me and assuming their important leadership responsibilities to our Chamber membership on that date. The biggest change? At the end of this calendar year our President/CEO Evan Nolte is retiring after 37 years at the helm of the Chamber. It goes without saying that Evan´s leadership and steady hand have guided our organization to a place of prominence in the community, region and state.
