Lisa Schultz, Midcontinent Business Solutions, was the Diplomat of the Month for July. Karen Noonan, CarrierNet Group Financial, Inc., took second place honors and Tami Ekrem, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, took third place honors for July. The July Diplomat Team of the Month includes: Captain Lisa Schultz, Midcontinent Business Solutions; Duane Noerenberg, Anderson Group CPA; Sonja Borchardt, Qwest Corporation; Tammy Beintema, Miller Sellers Heroux Architects, Inc.; and Deb Peterson, CorTrust Bank.

New Faces/Promotions

South Dakota Achieve recently promoted the following employees: Richard DiSanto was named Vice President of Day Services and Production. DiSanto has been with South Dakota Achieve since 1992. Nathan Stallinga was named the Director of Annual Giving. His position will focus on fundraising, marketing, event planning.

Security National Bank of South Dakota added Wanda Promes to its staff as Mortgage Loan Manager. Promes has an extensive background in the banking and mortgage industry, most recently serving customers as a Mortgage Loan Originator in the Sioux Falls market.

Ulteig Engineers recently added several new employees. Brian Tepe joined Ulteig's Energy Services sector as a CADD Technician in its T&D and Communications group. Tepe is a graduate of Southeast Technical Institute with an AAS degree in Architectural-Construction Technology. Ulteig's Neil Groon and Christopher Green recently relocated to the Sioux Falls office in its Building Services division. Groon, a structural engineer, transferred from Ulteig's Minneapolis office. He has more than nine years of professional experience including three years with Ulteig. Groon is a licensed professional engineer in three states and a graduate of South Dakota State University. Green, a lead electrical engineer and project manager, transferred from Ulteig's Fargo office. He has more than 16 years of professional experience including three years with Ulteig. Green is a licensed professional engineer in five states and is a LEED® Accredited Professional. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Craig Anderson, a Senior Vice President at Ulteig, leads the company's Building Services practice and has been with the company for three years. He has a bachelor's degree from Hamline University and a master's degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota. Steve Synhorst, PE, is the leader of the Aviation division and a Senior Vice President who has been with Ulteig for nearly 20 years. He graduated from University of North Dakota with a degree in Civil Engineering. Tom Welle, PE, has been with the company for 17 years and is a Civil Engineering graduate of North Dakota State University. Welle is a Senior Vice President and leads Ulteig's Water/Wastewater division.

Ethan Allen promoted Brad Spaans. Spaans has been with Ethan Allen in Sioux Falls for three years. Spaans studied architecture at the University of Nebraska, then started his interior design career at Ethan Allen of Omaha nine years ago. Tricia Howard joined Ethan Allen as an Interior Designer. With more than 13 years of residential design experience, most recently at the Design Studio of Gabberts in Minneapolis, Howard is fluent in many different styles. Howard received her bachelor's degree in Interior Design from South Dakota State University. Dee Rose was recently promoted at Ethan Allen. Rose has been an Interior Designer for Ethan Allen since 2005. She has 15 years of experience in both commercial and residential work, including new home and remodeling projects. Rose is also the Drapery Manager for the Sioux Falls Ethan Allen and a Window Fashion Certified Professional. Heidi Coatsworth joined Ethan Allen Home Interiors as an Interior Designer. Educated in Graphic and Interior Design, Coatsworth brings 14-plus years of experience to Ethan Allen, including interior, commercial and lighting design. Coatsworth comes to Ethan Allen from DeWitt Designs.

Scott Ogdahl joined First Savings Bank as a Commercial/Ag Loan Officer. Ogdahl received his bachelor's degree from Southwest Minnesota State University and has more than seven years of banking experience.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sioux Falls elected the following as new members to its board of directors: Evan Ingebrigtson, Minnwest Bank; Dave Nadolski, Lynn, Jackson, Shultz & LeBrun P.C.; and Mark Swenson, Home Federal Bank. Officers for 2008-09 are: Eric Lundin, Home Federal Bank, president; Steve Cook, Advertising Arts, 1st vice president; Jon Schmidt, Civil Designs, Inc, 2nd vice president; Gary Stanley, Randall-Stanley Architects, secretary; and Darrell Schmith, First PREMIER Bank, treasurer. Others serving on the board include: Charles Beatch, Beatch Construction, LLC; Brad Jans, Dakota Millworks; Lanny Auringer, Innovative Design; Father Charles Cimpl, St Michael Parish; Paul Hegg, Hegg Companies; Troy Holt, Wells Fargo Financial; Pam Jorgensen, State Bank Mortgage; Dr. Earl Kemp, Center for Family Medicine; Marilyn Peterson, First Premier Bank; and Tom Wierenga, Citi.

Honors in Industry

Barbara Stork, CEO of Midwest Provisions, Inc., was selected by Enterprising Women as a recipient of the magazine's Enterprising Women of the Year Award for 2008. She was recently honored at an celebration at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Enterprising Women established the award six years ago to celebrate accomplishments of women entrepreneurs in North America. To win the award, honorees must demonstrate they have thriving, fast-growing businesses and that they are leaders in their communities and outstanding mentors for other women in business. Midwest Provisions is a contract food and vending services company that started in 1990. The company recently expanded to serve smaller business customers as well as large corporations and industry.

For his 4,000-plus lifetime hours of volunteer work, Frank Duffy, 87, a retired stock broker, was recently honored by Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. Duffy has volunteered with the Habitat's ReStore for six years. Currently, Duffy serves as a product preparation assistant at the ReStore and is a member of the Habitat for Humanity Builder's Club, which raises money for Habitat every time a new home is complete.
